I like reviewing gadgets, phones, vacuum cleaners and all sorts of other gizmos, and I need somewhere easy to share my thoughts when I'm done, and so it goes here -- welcome to Chris Talks Gadgets!
I've been a tech-reviewer and writer for.. gosh.. nearly 15 years now. While I've written for the likes of Finder, Sydney Morning Herald, appeared on SBS and freelanced in a few other places, much of my time was spent with Ausdroid. My first article was a review of the HTC Wildfire ... gosh that's a while ago. Since then, I've reviewed all kinds of things, written tech news, covered conferences and goodness only knows what. It's been a long ride.
However, like all good things, Ausdroid was drawing to a close. Much of our team moved on to other / bigger / better things, and while some of our core crew remained, it became obvious this year that it was time to do something new.
With Ausdroid's sale to Clickout Media - in the hopes they could revitalise it into a new and more engaging news platform - I wanted to keep a little corner of the internet for myself. Something new. Something for me. Something nice and easy.
So. Chris Talks Gadgets it is.
What will we do here?
I'm planning for this to be a place to post reviews and interesting tidbits - things that interest me, primarily, but that may be of interest to a smaller audience, too.
I'll be reaching out to PR contacts over the coming days to (re-)introduce myself under this new banner, and in the meantime, if you'd like to get in touch, reach out!
